unfurrow (v.) — to smooth the carved earth; to free what was held

Software has a tendency to forget who it's for. It starts as a tool but ends up as a walled garden; built to keep you trapped inside. The data is not yours, the algorithms are hidden, and features are locked behind payment tiers. You stop being a customer and become the product instead.

That's the wrong way to build software. Everything should be open because transparency is a requirement for trust. Your data should be portable, easily exportable, and in open formats so you can take it anywhere at any time. Software should outlast any company, including this one. And it should do a few things well instead of many things poorly.

There's something in the works. Check back soon.
